Members of Bajrang Dal, a Hindu outfit, laid hands on a man in the early hours of Saturday, who was found to be transporting beef in a luxury car, the police said. According to the Habibganj police, they received information from the outfit, and rushed to the scene to nab the accused. As per police, the accused is being interrogated at present. Accused identified as Nandkishore: Bajrang Dal Convenor Convenor of the Bhopal unit of Bajrang Dal, Abhijeet Singh Rajput told Bhaskar English that at 4 am on Saturday, he and his aides received a tip-off about a man ferrying 5 quintals of beef in a luxury car. As per Rajput, the accused had left for Bhopal from the Mandideep town of Raisen. He added that he and other members of the outfit managed to intercept the man’s car near the Ganesh temple in the area. After stopping the man’s car, they inspected it, and found 5 quintals of beef kept inside it. The accused identified himself as Nandkishore, a resident of Koh-e-fiza area of Bhopal. Cops called to the scene, accused arrested The Bajrang Dal workers thrashed the man on the spot and called the Habibganj police thereafter. The police rushed to the scene and assumed custody of the accused. Meanwhile, the Bajrang Dal activists raised slogans of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ on the spot, and called out activities such as cow slaughter, and smuggling of beef. Habibganj police station in-charge Sanjeev Chouksey told Bhaskar English that Nandkishore is being interrogated at present, after which more details shall come to light. He added that as per preliminary details, the accused was about to transport and distribute the beef to the areas in old Bhopal.
