Manmeet Narang given key IB role The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an official appointment order naming Narang, a 1994-batch MP-cadre IPS officer, as Special Director in the IB. Narang, who has already been serving in the IB, has been assigned the role for two years as part of the recent postings of 11 IPS officers in departments linked to central security. This appointment reflects the central government’s focus on strengthening intelligence and security administration by placing experienced officers in key roles. IAS officer Neeraj Singh relieved for central assignment Meanwhile, MP-cadre IAS officer Neeraj Kumar Singh has been relieved by the Madhya Pradesh government to join the central administration. Singh, a 2012-batch officer, has been appointed as Special Assistant to Union Minister of State for Commerce Industry and Electronics Information Technology, Jitin Prasad, for a five-year tenure. In the past, officers such as Sanket Bhondwe, Navneet Mohan Kothari, Nikunj Srivastava, and Vishesh Garhpale have served as special assistants to central ministers before returning to Madhya Pradesh. Currently, Nikunj Srivastava is serving in Washington as an advisor to the World Bank. Pawan Kumar Sharma takes election-related responsibility Earlier, IAS officer Pawan Kumar Sharma of the MP cadre received a major assignment ahead of the Bihar elections. He was appointed Deputy Election Commissioner. Sharma had recently been promoted to Additional Secretary and posted in the Ministry of Defence, highlighting his growing responsibilities in central governance.
