Passengers travelling from Indore to Sharjah will soon have more convenience. From October 27, flights from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport to Sharjah will operate seven days a week. Currently, Air India Express runs this flight only four days a week- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday- departing at 10:10 pm. New morning schedule on three days As per the revised schedule, flights will depart at 10:10 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while the evening schedule will continue on the other four days. The current regular fare for this direct flight during off-season ranges from ₹12,000 to ₹14,000. With daily operations, fares are expected to drop to around ₹9,000–₹11,000. During peak seasons, prices may rise again. For example, during the India-Pakistan Asia Cup matches, fares had soared to ₹40,000-₹45,000. Boost for travellers from neighbouring states The increased frequency will benefit passengers not only from Madhya Pradesh but also from adjoining states- Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. Many travellers from more than 20 districts in these states prefer flying from Indore because of lower fares. They also use this route to reach Dubai and other destinations via Sharjah at affordable costs. Time saving direct flight option Currently, the Indore-Sharjah flight takes just 3 hours 10 minutes, whereas passengers travelling through Mumbai or Delhi on non-direct routes often spend up to 15 hours in transit. The daily direct service will therefore save significant time for international travellers.
