The much-anticipated Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan will be held on Saturday, September 28, in the midst of the festive season and Navratri celebrations. Given the high stakes and potential crowds, the Bhopal Police have implemented strict security arrangements across the city. Sensitive areas have been identified, and directives have been issued to deploy additional personnel at these locations. Deployment of forces and strategic reserves Approximately 1,200 police officers and officials, including a company from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), will be on active surveillance throughout the city. All station officers will coordinate with their mobile patrolling teams to conduct continuous monitoring. The police have also established 15 strategic reserves at key locations to ensure immediate response to any situation that may arise. Crowd management at public viewing spots Special attention will be given to crowded areas, particularly where large screens are set up to broadcast the live match. Police teams will be stationed to prevent large gatherings and maintain order during the event. CCTV monitoring and control room oversight The police control room will continuously monitor the entire city through CCTV cameras. Officers have stressed that, considering both the festival season and the high-profile match, there will be no compromise on public safety. Instructions to officers All Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have been asked to submit lists of sensitive areas in their jurisdictions. Patrolling teams have been instructed to exercise extra vigilance and ensure that the match and festivities proceed smoothly without any security lapses.
