A 50-year-old principal in Narmadapuram is accused of sending inappropriate “I Love You” messages to a female teacher. He allegedly referenced the Hindi film song Phool Tumhe Bheja Hai Khat Mein and asked for her response. When the teacher said he was like a father to her, he reportedly began harassing her. The case comes from a school in Hathwas. The victim teacher complained to the District Education Officer (DEO), Jyoti Prahladi, who sent a three-member investigation team to the school on Friday (September 26). Based on the team’s report, the DEO has sent a proposal to the Joint Director of Narmadapuram recommending his suspension. Teacher alleges harassment by principal, files complaint with authorities Teacher filed a written complaint against the principal of her school to the Pipariya Block Education Officer (BEO) and District Education Officer on September 17, claiming he repeatedly sent indecent and inappropriate messages on WhatsApp. She provided screenshots as evidence. Furthermore, the teacher remarked she responded politely, calling him “like a father” and a “respectable teacher,” but when he did not stop, he began harassing her by assigning extra duties to create mental pressure. She stated that his behaviour affected her mental health and her ability to work, adding that it violated the respect due to women employees. Following her complaint, an investigation was also launched to delve deep into the case and understand all angles. Investigation team includes three school principals The investigation team comprised Sanjeev Dubey, Principal of Sandipani Government RNA Piparia; Sunita Garhwal, Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sohagpur; and Sheela Chaudhary, Principal of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Semari Harchand. Statements were recorded from 13 teachers. Principal claims message sent by mistake Principal Suresh Srivastava clarified that the controversial message was sent accidentally via Facebook. He said he had not taken his BP medicine at the time and the matter has been resolved. Teachers alleged threats by Principal Several teachers had filed a written complaint to BEO Pipariya on September 17, claiming the principal threatens staff with transfers by invoking the Education Minister’s influence. Female teachers reported feeling uncomfortable when he visits classes. Despite the complaint, BEO Pipariya did not take strong action.
