Bhopal’s Ratibad police achieved a major breakthrough on Thursday by arresting two men involved in the theft of property and cash worth Rs 35 lakh from Shreeji Infrastructure India Pvt Ltd’s central workshop located in Barjhiri area of Ratibad, the police said. The accused, according to the police, were identified as Aman Chintaman, an employee of the company, and Vishal Kushwaha, a local scrap dealer. Police investigations revealed that Aman, who worked inside the company, was the mastermind behind the theft. Modus-operandi of the accused Ratibad police station in-charge Ras Behari Sharma said that Aman, in collusion with Kushwaha, systematically stole iron moulds, frames, and other construction materials whenever consignments were loaded for project sites. Instead of delivering the full load, part of the materials was secretly shifted to Kushwaha’s pick-up vehicle and was later sold to scrap shops. In addition, forged documents were prepared on the company’s letterhead to create fake authority letters. These were used to deceive traders and sell stolen property as legitimate stock. With the stolen money, the accused purchased luxury items including an iPhone, a car, and even a house. Case details and recovery On September 4, 2025, company officials noticed large quantities of iron materials missing, alongside a broken office lock and Rs 10,000 in cash stolen from a drawer. The company’s Mechanical Manager filed a complaint on Wednesday, and a case was registered at the Ratibad police station. Two special teams were formed to crack the case. Technical surveillance, CCTV footage from nearby roads, and informers’ inputs helped the police trace the suspects. Upon interrogation, both accused confessed to the crime. Police have seized property worth nearly Rs 30 lakh, including the car, house documents, iPhone, and two pick-up trucks used in the crime. Court approval has also been obtained to confiscate the house and other assets purchased through stolen money. Further probe The police said that the accused are currently under police remand for detailed questioning about other possible thefts. Senior police officers have announced rewards for the police team involved in solving the case within 24 hours.
