GST rate cut: TVs, ACs, laptops see relief; what happens to mobile phones

The Goods and Services Tax Council approved new GST reforms. The council reduced the slabs to 5% and 18%. Nirmala Sitharaman announced the changes. The revised rates take effect from September 22. Consumer electronics like ACs and TVs will see a price cut. Mobile phone and laptop GST rates remain unchanged. Air conditioners and dishwashers will also become cheaper.
