The Supreme Court has requested responses from NCERT and SCERTs regarding the implementation of comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) in textbooks, following a PIL alleging non-compliance with a previous directive. The court also sought responses from Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu concerning the inclusion of gender identity and diversity content, as mandated by the Transgender Persons Act of 2019.
