Highway push: Cabinet okays Rs 2,157 crore upgrade of Marakkanam–Puducherry route; project to ease travel and create 18 lakh jobs

The Union cabinet has approved a Rs 2,157 crore project to construct a four-lane highway between Marakkanam and Puducherry. This 46-km stretch of NH-332A aims to ease congestion and boost travel and trade in the region. The upgraded highway will connect major transport hubs, including railway stations, airports, and a minor port, fostering economic growth and creating employment opportunities.
