‘Pay Rs 3.5 lakh or face encounter’: Cops threaten UP jeweller; FIR against 4 police including inspector, SI, all suspended

Four police officers in Agra, including an inspector and a sub-inspector, have been suspended following allegations of extorting Rs 3.5 lakh from a jeweller. The officers threatened to kill the jeweller in a staged encounter if he refused to pay. An FIR has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway, led by Patiyali DSP, with further departmental action pending.
