Asteroid as big as an airplane to pass Earth: Here’s all you need to know

On July 28, 2025, asteroid 2025 OW, about 210 feet across, will pass Earth at a safe distance of 393,000 miles. NASA assures there’s no threat, as such close approaches are routine. While invisible to the naked eye, it highlights NASA’s planetary defense efforts, with a more visible pass by asteroid Apophis expected in 2029.
