IAS Tuhin Kanta Pandey Appointed New SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey was appointed as the new SEBI Chairman, replacing Madhabi Puri Buch whose tenure ends on February 28. The 1987-batch officer from Odisha cadre will replace Madhabi Puri Buch, whose three-year tenure will end on February 28. The Finance Ministry had sought applications for the post by February 17. Buch’s immediate predecessors, Ajay Tyagi and UK Sinha, had both got extensions as the SEBI chief, with Tyagi serving for four years and Sinha serving for six years in the chair.
