Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of 2014 batch Nidhi Tiwari has been appointed as the Private Secretary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Government issued an official order stating that IFS officer Nidhi Tiwari is appointed the Private Secretary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She was already working as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office and now she has been promoted and given this important responsibility. Nidhi Tiwari: Backgrounder During her career, she has worked in many important departments of the Ministry of External Affairs. In view of her administrative efficiency, she was posted in the PMO, where she was working as Deputy Secretary. As Deputy Secretary, she handled many important responsibilities in the Prime Minister’s Office. Important Role Nidhi Tiwari will handle the day-to-day administrative work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She will have an important role in coordinating PM’s meetings, preparation of foreign tours and policy decisions. This appointment of Nidhi Tiwari reflects the increasing participation of women officers in the administration. Earlier, many women officers have worked on important posts in the PMO and now Nidhi Tiwari has joined this list.
