The wife allegedly conspired with her lover to get her husband murdered, buried his body and later immersed his remains in the Ganga on their wedding anniversary. The shocking revelation has emerged in the murder case of 20-year-old Vipin Kumar Yadav in Govindgarh police station area of Rewa. Police have arrested his wife and her lover in connection with the case. During the preliminary investigation, police found that the lover, Sunil Kushwaha, a private school teacher, gained Vipin’s trust by introducing himself as his wife’s brother. He allegedly took Vipin on the pretext of showing him his in-laws’ house and later murdered him before burying his body near a drain. Daily Bhaskar spoke to police to understand the entire case, from digging the grave before the murder to burying Vipin’s body after the crime. Full sequence of events According to police, Vipin Kumar Yadav, a resident of Mohar Tola in Bhagdevra, had gone to his in-laws’ house in Tikar village under Govindgarh police station area on March 26, 2026. After this, he went missing. A missing person report was registered at Rampur Baghelan police station on March 28. Nearly three months later, Vipin’s buried body was recovered from the ground near a drain, around 300 metres away from the accused’s house, in the presence of an executive magistrate. After police intensified the murder investigation, the entire conspiracy came to light. Now read the heart-wrenching murder mystery Lover stayed overnight posing as brother-in-law According to Vipin’s family, the accused came to their house on March 25. His wife introduced him as her brother. Since the couple had been married for only a year, nobody suspected anything. The accused stayed overnight, gained the family’s trust and observed their routine. He spent time talking with the family and tried to gather information about Vipin. He introduced himself as a teacher, due to which the family considered him educated and from a respectable profession. He also portrayed himself as a religious person. Accused told Vipin, “Brother-in-law, let me show you your in-laws’ house” The next morning, the accused told Vipin, “Brother-in-law, come with me, I will show you your in-laws’ house.” On March 26 afternoon, he took Vipin to Tikar village in Govindgarh on the pretext of showing him the place. Police said the accused kept Vipin engaged in conversation and did not allow him to suspect anything. During the journey, he repeatedly asked if Vipin was hungry and even offered to buy him snacks. After travelling for nearly one and a half hours, they reached Tikar village. As soon as they arrived, the accused allegedly told Vipin that he had created a distance between him and the woman he loved. “You are the obstacle in our love, I will give you salvation” According to police, the accused told Vipin, “You are like a bone stuck in a kebab between our love. Today you have to sacrifice yourself.” Vipin reportedly realised he had been deceived and said he had been brought there to harm him. The accused allegedly replied, “I have not brought you to harm you, I have brought you to give you salvation.” He then allegedly assaulted Vipin. When Vipin fell, he tried to escape, but the accused dragged him towards a nearby well and said, “You have not married, you have ruined your life.” The accused then allegedly pushed him into the well. Vipin cried for help. Threw stone into well, killed him Police said Vipin tried to climb out of the well, but the accused picked up a large stone lying nearby and threw it at him. The stone hit Vipin’s thigh, causing him to fall again. Vipin allegedly folded his hands and pleaded for his life, but the accused did not stop. Police said he told Vipin, “Your death is certain today,” and killed him by throwing stones. The accused then pulled Vipin’s body out of the well with the help of a rope. Dug 4-feet wide, 6-feet deep grave before murder Police said the accused had already prepared a grave as part of the plan. The grave was around four feet wide and six feet deep. He allegedly threw Vipin’s body into the grave. Police said even after this, the accused showed no remorse and spat on Vipin while saying, “Your real place is inside this grave.” The accused told police that digging the grave took around three hours and he did it at night to avoid suspicion. “We never separated even after her marriage” According to police, Sunil admitted during questioning that he had a relationship with Vipin’s wife before her marriage. Even after her marriage, their conversations and meetings continued. Police said Sunil considered Vipin the biggest obstacle in their relationship and planned to remove him from their way. No remorse for killing Vipin, got peace of mind Police said Sunil told investigators that he assaulted Vipin at an isolated location and pushed him into the well. According to police, the accused said he had no regret over the murder and felt relieved after fulfilling his plan. Wife said- He was not of my status During questioning, Vipin’s wife Aanchal Yadav allegedly said she wanted to marry an educated and well-settled person. She told police that she wanted to live a high-profile life. Police said Aanchal claimed she did not consider Vipin to be of her status and felt he would not be able to fulfil her dreams and ambitions. Police are verifying her statements with other evidence. Investigators are also examining their mobile phones, call records and other electronic evidence to establish the sequence of events. Family members had arranged their marriage with consent Vipin’s uncle Suryapal Yadav told police that Vipin and Aanchal had married a year ago with the consent of both families. The family had no knowledge of any love affair before the marriage. Even after the wedding, everyone believed they were living a normal married life and never imagined such a conspiracy was taking place. “What was my nephew’s fault… she could have taken a divorce” Suryapal Yadav said the family is devastated after Vipin’s death. He said, “What was my nephew’s fault? If she loved someone else, why did she marry him? She could have told the family the truth. We would never have forced her.” He added that if she did not want to continue the marriage, she could have legally taken a divorce instead of taking someone’s life. He said Vipin was still very young and the family had many dreams for his future. “We never thought the relationship we considered our own would become the reason for our son’s death. If she had informed us about her relationship, we would have separated them. Today our son would have been alive.” Police said- Both conspired together to commit murder Police said Sunil Kushwaha has been arrested in the case, while questioning of Vipin’s wife is underway. According to police, both the lover and the wife conspired together and targeted Vipin as part of a pre-planned murder. Police are collecting evidence and continuing the investigation. A murder case has been registered.
