The district administration has ordered an inquiry into alleged irregularities involving cash donations, gold and silver ornaments, and financial transactions at the renowned Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Agar-Malwa district. The action follows complaints from devotees alleging that offerings were being collected by a non-governmental committee and deposited into private bank accounts. Collector Preeti Yadav has constituted a three-member joint investigation team and directed it to submit its report within seven days. The panel will examine the allegations related to the collection and handling of devotees’ offerings, as well as the alleged use of private accounts for temple funds. Allegations against Non-governmental committee According to the order issued by the Collector’s office, the complaint states that a non-governmental committee, separate from the government management committee, was collecting donations from devotees in the form of cash, gold, and silver within the temple premises. It is alleged that private bank accounts were used for the offering amounts, and financial records were tampered with. District Panchayat CEO will lead the investigation The investigation team will be led by B.S. Solanki, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat. District Treasury Officer Manish Solanki and Chief Municipal Officer of Nalkheda Nagar Parishad Mini Agrawal have been made members of the committee. During this time, some people verbally complained about irregularities in donations and financial transactions, after which investigation orders were issued. Currently, it is not clear who filed the written complaint. Records related to the collection and use of gold, silver, and cash donations received from devotees can also be investigated. An attempt was made to contact Collector Preeti Yadav to know her side in this matter, but she did not receive the call. Manish Solanki, a member of the investigation team, stated that he has received information about his inclusion in the committee. The investigation will be conducted as per rules. Devotees arrive for Tantric practices, chili rituals Maa Baglamukhi Temple, located on the banks of the Lakhundar River, is considered one of the prominent Shaktipeeths of the country. It is believed that Maa resides here in her awakened form, and it is one of the most important spiritual sites for Tantra practitioners. According to religious beliefs, through the Tantric and chili rituals performed here, blessings for victory in court cases, triumph over enemies, and progeny are received. It is also believed that during the Mahabharata period, the Pandavas received the boon of victory at this very place. In the temple, the Mother Goddess is enshrined in three forms. Mahalakshmi is seen on the right, Saraswati on the left, and Mother Baglamukhi in the centre. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple is adorned with gold worth more than 3 crore rupees, silver worth about 65 lakh rupees, and precious ornaments. An 80-foot-tall Deepmala (lamp tower) in front of the temple is also a major centre of attraction for devotees.
