At least five people were killed and four others were seriously injured after a Bolero collided with a truck in Sehore district on Monday afternoon. The impact of the collision was so severe that the Bolero was completely mangled. Several occupants were trapped inside the vehicle, while three passengers were thrown nearly 15–20 feet away from the point of impact. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Accident occurred near Mena Godi village According to police, the accident took place at around 2:45 pm on the Ashta–Shujalpur road near Mena Godi village. The Bolero driver died inside the vehicle, with his body trapped in the wreckage. Two occupants suffered fractured legs, while others sustained serious head injuries. See pictures related to the accident All victims were residents of Rajgarh district Ashta SDOP Damodar Gupta said all the victims were residents of Bhiyapura village under the Kalipith police station limits in Rajgarh district. They were travelling to Ashta for medical treatment when the accident occurred. The Bolero was carrying nine passengers: Police and villagers conduct rescue operation After receiving information about the crash, the Ashta police rushed to the spot. With the help of local villagers, police personnel rescued the injured passengers who were trapped inside the badly damaged vehicle. The injured were initially taken to the Ashta Civil Hospital. They were later referred to the Sehore District Hospital, and those in critical condition were shifted to Bhopal for advanced treatment. Bodies sent for post-mortem; identification underway Police have sent the bodies of the five deceased for post-mortem examination. So far, only two of the injured have been identified as Inder Singh, son of Nandram, and Rajaram, son of Ganpat. Authorities are continuing efforts to establish the identities of the remaining deceased and injured while further investigation into the accident is underway.
