After surveying the bank, he entered it on Friday night, taking advantage of a three-day holiday. Using a gas cutter, a hammer, and a chisel, he spent nearly 34 hours trying to break open a locker. When police arrived, he detonated a sutli bomb in an attempt to escape, but was overpowered by Sub-Inspector Narayan Baghel, who caught him despite being injured.
