The body of missing petrochemical employee Nishant Joshi (50) from Indore has been recovered from Mandleshwar in Khargone district. Joshi had been missing since Monday afternoon after his car was found abandoned on the Narmada bridge on Kasrawad Road. Following his disappearance, police teams along with SDRF personnel and local divers conducted an extensive search operation in the Narmada river. On Wednesday afternoon, his body was found floating among debris in the river near the Gandhinagar area. Manager at Indore petrochemical firm Nishant Joshi worked as a manager at Havenol Petrochemical Company in Indore. His sudden disappearance had triggered a large-scale search operation across the river stretch. Family background Joshi’s wife, Smita Joshi, serves as an SP in the Narcotics Department in Garoth, Mandsaur. Their daughter, Aashi Joshi, is currently pursuing her college studies in Bhopal. He had left home around 1 PM on June 22, saying he was going to the office. Around 11:30 PM at night, Mandleshwar police found car number MP09 WA 3717 abandoned on the Narmada bridge. Based on the documents found in the vehicle, police informed his family members in Indore. After this, on Tuesday morning, the family reached Mandleshwar police station and filed a missing person report. According to the family, Nishant had been struggling with mental health issues for some time. His treatment was ongoing. After the body was found, his wife Smita Joshi, daughter Aashi, cousin Dr. Vivek Joshi and his friend Ashish Gangrade reached Mandleshwar. A note was also recovered from the car, which mentions family responsibilities. It reads – Dear Vivek Bhaiya, Aashi is mentally, physically, financially your and Bhabhi’s responsibility. Two mobile numbers are also written at the bottom of the note. Body sent to Harda after post-mortem Station in-charge Pankaj Tiwari said that the body was retrieved from the river with the help of local boatmen. After conducting the post-mortem at Mandleshwar Community Health Center, the body was handed over to the family members around 5:30 pm in the evening. The family members have left for Harda, where his last rites will be performed on Thursday morning. The police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.
