One of the most talked-about controversies in the Indian Premier League (IPL), ‘Slapgate’, has caught the headlines again. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, alias ‘Bhajji’, has expressed regret over that old controversy, calling it one of the worst decisions of his life. In a podcast uploaded on a YouTube channel on June 21, Harbhajan Singh expressed deep regret over the entire controversy. Bhajji believes that whatever happened on the field should not have happened. If he gets a chance to rectify one mistake from the past, he would choose this incident. Harbhajan said, “It was just 5 seconds of anger. That little bit of anger created so much trouble, negative energy, and confrontation. Because of that one moment, my image was severely damaged. Whenever I think about it, I feel it was a very bad decision. Earlier, former Indian fast bowler S. Sreesanth openly challenged veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, alias Bhajji, to a boxing ring match. Sreesanth is reportedly upset with a recently released advertisement, which he is associating with the infamous ‘slapgate’ incident of 2008. Sreesanth’s open challenge, ‘If you dare, come into the ring’ S. Sreesanth’s anger erupted in an interview given to a YouTube channel. In this interview, which went viral on June 18, he accused Harbhajan Singh of continuously exploiting this controversy for personal gain and making money. Sreesanth mentioned an old promotional poster, in which both were seen wearing boxing gloves. He asked if he (Harbhajan) had the dare to repeat the same scene? He said, “Does Bhajji have the guts to come into the ring with me? This won’t be acting. I am currently in the Bare Knuckle fight league. Bhajji, I am challenging you. If you have so much trouble with that slap incident, then let’s leave the advertisements and actually get into the ring. I am waiting.” 2008 Slapgate incident in 2 points: The matter flared up again due to Lalit Modi’s statement Post navigation ‘Words can’t explain it’, Sooryavanshi overwhelmed after receiving India jersey:15-year-old leaves with senior team for Ireland, kicks off journey with selfie Cricketer Akash Deep takes Rambhadracharya’s blessings via video call:Grooves during Mehendi ceremony, set to marry in Varanasi tomorrow
