In view of the arrival of President Draupadi Murmu, the railway administration has completely strengthened the security arrangements. West Central Railway and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have started an intensive checking campaign at Jabalpur main railway station and the surrounding areas. It is to be noted that the President will reach Jabalpur today and will participate in several programs tomorrow. Before the VVIP movement, every aspect of security at the station and trains was being checked. As part of the security arrangements, the railway’s dog squad has also been deployed. With the help of sniffer dogs, suspicious items and unclaimed objects are being checked at the station’s entry-exit points, parcel house, waiting rooms, and platforms. Suspicious persons are being questioned Amidst high alert, the RPF team is keeping watch on all trains coming and going from Jabalpur. Searches are being conducted by going into the coaches of major trains stopping at the station. Along with random checking of passengers’ luggage, people with suspicious activities are also being questioned. Continuous surveillance of trains and station premises According to Railway Police officials, the security cordon has been tightened in view of the President’s visit. Trains and station premises are being continuously monitored to prevent any kind of security lapse. Officials have made it clear that no negligence will be tolerated in security arrangements. RPF has appealed to passengers to immediately report any suspicious person, object, or activity to railway staff or security forces on duty, so that action can be taken in time.
