mp-kushwah-backs-natural-chemical-free-farming:says-lower-costs,-higher-profits-to-empower-farmers

A seminar on natural farming was organised at the Bal Bhavan Auditorium of the Gwalior Municipal Corporation to educate farmers about the benefits of adopting natural farming practices. A large number of farmers attended the programme. Addressing the gathering, Gwalior MP Bharat Singh Kushwah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, natural farming is being promoted across the country. He said the initiative would reduce production costs for farmers and help increase their income. Kushwah further said that natural farming not only strengthens farmers economically but also ensures the availability of pure and quality food grains for consumers. According to him, it can also contribute to reducing disease and improving public health. Getting positive results now The MP said that he is a farmer himself and had several doubts when he first decided to adopt natural farming. However, he gradually embraced the method and is now witnessing positive results. He said natural farming has enabled him to achieve better yields at a lower cost while also fetching higher market prices. While conventionally grown wheat sells for around ₹3,000 per quintal, wheat cultivated through natural farming has earned him nearly ₹5,000 per quintal. He described natural farming as a profitable proposition for farmers. Reduce dependence on chemical farming Kushwah appealed to farmers to reduce their dependence on chemical farming and move towards natural farming practices. He stressed that doing so would help preserve soil fertility, improve the quality of agricultural produce and strengthen the financial condition of farmers. Gwalior Collector Ruchika Chauhan, officials from the Agriculture Department and farmers from different parts of the district were also present at the programme.
