India defeated the Netherlands by 95 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 on 17 June in Leeds. With this victory, India made it two wins out of two matches in the tournament and moved to the top of the Group 1 points table. Batting first, India scored 209/5, their highest score in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. In response, the Netherlands were restricted to 114 in 17.3 overs. It was a second consecutive loss for the Dutch who are making their debut in the tournament. The match witnessed many moments and records. Smriti Mandhana made several records in her innings of 74 runs. She became the first batter to complete 600 fours in men’s and women’s T20 International cricket. She appeared to be in a lot of pain. The physio came and examined her. She was unable to stand on her right leg. She was taken off the field with the help of a stretcher. 2. Richa stumped de Leede In the 14th over, Nandini Sharma dismissed Netherlands captain Babette de Leede for 28 runs, giving the team its fourth wicket. Wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh completed the stumping. De Leede scored 28 runs off 27 balls, which included 3 fours. 3) Jemimah Rodrigues’ running catch Jemimah Rodrigues took a wonderful running catch to dismiss Isabel Woning in the match. She surpassed the record of 5 fifties held by Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj. 3. Deepti completes 355 wickets, equals Goswami Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has taken 355 wickets in women’s international cricket. She has equaled former Indian bowler Jhulan Goswami in the list of bowlers with the most wickets. Jhulan also has 355 international cricket wickets to her name. 4. India’s highest score in T20 World Cup The Indian women’s team scored 209 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs against the Netherlands. This is India’s highest score in the T20 World Cup. This is also India’s first 200+ score in this tournament. Before this, India had scored 194/5 against New Zealand in the 2018 World Cup.
