Neighbour attacks family over 2-year-old feud in Gwalior:Pelts stones at car parked outside, targets women who tried to stop him

A neighbour allegedly created a ruckus in the Jyoti Nagar Kumharpura area under the Thatipur police station limits in Gwalior early on Saturday morning due to an old rivalry. The accused damaged a car parked outside the victim’s house by pelting stones at it. When family members objected, he allegedly also hurled stones at the women of the household. According to information, Bhupendra Sahu, a resident of Jyoti Nagar, works for a private company. At the time of the incident, he was on duty in the night shift, while his wife Sapna Sahu and elderly mother Jamuna Devi were at home. Pelted stones at 4 AM in the morning At around 4 am on Saturday, while everyone was asleep, neighbour Bhagwandas Rajak allegedly arrived outside Bhupendra’s house. He allegedly attacked Bhupendra’s car (registration number MP07 CE-1029), which was parked outside the house, using large stones. The vehicle’s windows were shattered and the car was badly damaged. Threw stones at women of the house when they protested Sapna Sahu and her elderly mother-in-law Jamuna Devi, who were sleeping inside the house, were alarmed by the noise. When the two women opened the door and came outside in an attempt to stop Bhagwandas, he allegedly became even more aggressive. He reportedly started pelting stones at the women as well, narrowly missing them. Before other neighbours could wake up and gather at the spot after hearing the commotion, Bhagwandas allegedly fled the scene after threatening the family with dire consequences and death threats. When Bhupendra returned home in the morning, his wife and mother informed him about the entire incident. The reason for the attack is a 2-year-old ‘crime connection’ The victim’s family told police that their dispute with Bhagwandas dates back two years. According to the family, Bhagwandas had allegedly entered Bhupendra’s house with malicious intent when Bhupendra’s elderly mother was alone at home. Bhupendra had then lodged a complaint against him at Thatipur police station. Police had subsequently sent Bhagwandas to jail. The family alleged that since his release, he had been looking for an opportunity to take revenge for the legal action taken against him.
