The Finance Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, proposed an annual budget of $67.49 billion (PKR 18.77 lakh crore) for the country on Friday, 12 June, 2026. The Shehbaz Sharif-led government increased defence sector allocation by 18%. News daily, Reuters, quoted Aurangzeb as saying in the parliament that the Pakistan government would allocate PKR 3 lakh crore for defence in the fiscal year starting July 2026.
