Jabalpur police have arrested a cunning accused from Bengaluru, who was targeting young women in different states of the country. He used different names in different documents. Different names have been found registered in Aadhaar card, driving license, and PAN card. More cases are likely to be revealed during interrogation. On March 20, 2026, a young woman from Jabalpur filed a complaint at the women’s police station. She stated that she met a young man on Shaadi dot com, who introduced himself as “Aditya Singh” and claimed to be a businessman. During the conversation, the accused assured the young woman of marriage and their contact increased. According to the victim, on March 14, the accused came to Jabalpur and called her to a hotel. After talking, he raped her by giving false promises of marriage. Later, he started blackmailing through private photos and videos. The women’s police station registered a case and started investigation. Based on technical evidence and location tracking, the police reached the accused and arrested him. He had taken the young woman to a hotel in Jabalpur The next day, the accused took the young woman to a hotel located in Tilwara. On the third day, both met at another hotel as well. After winning her trust for three days, the accused talked about getting married soon. After this, the young woman remained in contact with him. About a week later, the accused made a WhatsApp call and said that I have your objectionable photos and videos. He demanded money by threatening to make them viral. The young woman got scared, but out of fear of defamation, she did not tell anyone at home. After this, the accused did not contact her for a few days. When asked to go to Mathura, the victim told her mother In April, the accused called again and introduced himself as Pankaj and Divyanshu. He proposed going to Mathura. During this time, the young woman told her family about the accused for the first time and showed his photo. On April 8, the accused said that he was coming to Katni for a meeting. Since the accused had private photographs, the young woman told her mother that the young man had secretly taken her photos. Upon receiving the information, the young woman’s brother left for Katni on the Mahakaushal Express with his companions. At that time, the family only knew about the photos and blackmailing. No one knew about the rape. GRP caught him in Katni, issued notice and released him The young woman was in coach S-4 and the accused was in coach B-4. Near Sihora station, the accused reached the young woman’s coach. During this time, the victim’s brother, his companions and railway police personnel reached there. The accused was brought down from the train at Katni station and brought to Jabalpur and handed over to the women’s police station. The women’s police station registered a case on the complaint and released the accused after issuing a notice. Later it was found that his Aadhaar card and mobile number were fake. On May 28, 2026, the young woman again reached the women’s police station. She said that she had hidden many things earlier due to fear and defamation. She revealed that the accused had raped her by luring her with the promise of marriage. He is also already married. In the investigation, the Aadhaar card and mobile number turned out to be fake. During this time, information about a case from Gorabazar police station in 2022 was received. Photo matching revealed that the same accused, posing as Divyanshu Singh, had committed rape and blackmail and had also demanded money. The investigation revealed that in that case, the accused’s wife Renu was also a co-accused. Later, both got bail. It was also found that the accused had completed his 10th and 12th education while living in the Garha area of Jabalpur. The Women’s Police Station was searching for the accused with the help of the cyber team. The investigation revealed that he was working in Bengaluru. After this, a team was formed under the leadership of CSP Ashish Jain. The police team reached Bengaluru and arrested the accused with the help of local police.
