The CBI has started questioning retired judge Giribala in connection with the death of actress Twisha Sharma. Investigators have prepared more than 50 questions for her, while a separate set of supplementary questions has also been kept ready. During the initial round of questioning, CBI officers asked Giribala why she had applied for anticipatory bail even before an FIR was registered if she believed she had done nothing wrong. They also questioned her about allegedly asking her son, Samarth, to go into hiding. Sources said Giribala remained silent at first when asked these questions. However, she later admitted that it was a mistake. Investigators believe her actions may have further increased suspicion against her in the case. Remand on the argument of non-cooperation in the investigation On Friday at 12:30 PM, retired judge Giribala and her son Samarth were presented in the Bhopal Court. In the same court where Giribala was once a district judge, today she herself stood in the dock. Her son Samarth was also present in the dock with her. Both remained in court for about 90 minutes. The CBI lawyer informed the court that Samarth was not cooperating with the investigation. Some questions need to be asked by seating both of them face-to-face. Additionally, some evidence needs to be seized by taking them along. On this, the court sent Giribala and Samarth to five days of CBI remand. However, their lawyers did not object to the remand request. How Twisha was taken down from the noose, recreation will be done Samarth has stated that he himself took Twisha down from the noose, while his mother, Giribala, untied the knot of the noose. Now the CBI will take both the mother and son home and recreate the entire incident. For this, an 80 kg dummy mannequin will be used. The CBI will investigate whether what Samarth has stated in his statement matches the crime scene and circumstances. Meanwhile, Giribala will have to demonstrate by untying the knot of the dummy ligature how she loosened the noose around Twisha’s neck. CBI team will cross-check statements The CBI has already inspected the retired judge’s house and has also recorded initial statements from both. Now, it will scientifically analyze those statements for cross-checking and verification. Initially, both will be interrogated separately. After this, if contradictions are found in their answers, they will be interrogated face-to-face. The strength of the belt with which the alleged noose was made will also be tested. Retired DGP Subhash Chandra Tripathi says that in such cases, the CBI recreates the entire incident. In this case too, a dummy of Twisha’s weight will be made and the incident will be recreated. In this, the strength of the belt with which the noose is said to have been made will also be tested, to see if it can bear that much weight or not.
