In Rewa, YouTuber Manish Patel, who was absconding in a case of posting objectionable content against the Brahmin community on social media, has surrendered. After his anticipatory bail petition was rejected by the High Court on May 22, Manish reached Civil Line police station on Wednesday. The police took him into custody and presented him in court, from where he was sent on two-day remand. Manish has around 40 lakh followers on social media. Even during his absconding period, he remained continuously active on social media. During this time, he also posted photos and videos of attending wedding ceremonies and other public events. Was constantly changing locations Manish is a resident of Khutha village in Rewa district. On January 29, he made a video and posted it on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. In this video, objectionable comments were made about young women of the Brahmin community. After this went viral, the Brahmin community filed an FIR at the police station. To avoid arrest, he was constantly changing his location. He filed petitions from the local court to the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, but all were rejected. Police have seized his mobile phone. The search for other digital devices and laptop is ongoing.
