‘want-to-score-200-in-t20,-break-chris-gayle’s-record’:vaibhav-sooryavanshi-smashes-25-ball-ton-in-fun-challenge-with-kevin-pietersen

Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already impressed cricket fans with his explosive performances in the IPL and youth cricket, but the 15-year-old has now revealed an even bigger dream. His next target is to become the first player in cricket history to score a double century in T20 cricket. Rajasthan opener, Sooryavanshi, has set his eyes on breaking one of the most famous records in the shortest format of the game, Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 175. The legendary West Indian achieved the feat for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against Pune Warriors India (PWI) during the 2013 IPL season and the record has remained untouched for more than a decade. Recently, the 15-year-old, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, smashed a 25-ball ton in a fun challenge with Kevin Pietersen. The former English captain asked about his future ambitions in his cricket career. Where Vaibhav shared all his insights, desires and dreams to be fulfilled. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s ambitious goal revealed Speaking on the latest episode of The Switch with former England captain Kevin Pietersen, Sooryavanshi openly discussed his ambition. He said, “I want to score 200 in T20.” After Pietersen reminded him about Gayle’s famous record, saying, “Chris Gayle’s got 175,” the youngster doubled down on his ambition.
He further added, “Yeah, I want to break his record and score 200. If I play 20 overs in any game, I definitely will break that record.” His confidence reflects the aggressive style of batting that has already earned him widespread attention. Sooryavanshi is already close to the milestone While a T20 double century remains uncharted territory, Sooryavanshi has already shown that he is capable of producing massive scores. The youngster has previously scored 190 runs for Bihar in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and also smashed 175 in the final of the Under-19 World Cup. His highest T20 score currently stands at 144, underlining his ability to bat deep into an innings while maintaining an attacking approach. In November last year, he also registered the joint third-fastest T20 century by an Indian during the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup against the UAE. The achievement placed him alongside stars such as Rishabh Pant, Abhishek Sharma and Urvil Patel. ‘Will try to score 200 in the next match’ – Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Sooryavanshi’s fearless mindset has drawn comparisons with Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who became the first batter to score an ODI double century in 2010. The young batter has consistently spoken about his desire to achieve something extraordinary. After scoring a record-breaking 143 against England Under-19 last year, he had already hinted at his ambitions. “I will try to score 200 in the next match. I will try to play the full 50 overs. The more I score, more the team will benefit,” he had said.
