A shocking incident has emerged from Khajri village in Seoni district, where a man allegedly attacked his younger brother’s wife with an axe on Friday morning at around 8 am. The accused allegedly struck the woman repeatedly on her neck, stomach, hands and waist, causing her death on the spot. However, the bloody incident inside the house on Friday morning devastated the entire family. Alleged assault attempt behind closed doors Husband Bablu Markam told police that his elder brother locked the door and allegedly tried to sexually assault his wife. When she resisted, he became enraged, picked up an axe and launched a brutal attack on her. According to police, the accused has been identified as 35-year-old Abbu Lal Markam. He is said to have a criminal background and has previously served time in jail in another case. Eyewitness niece said – I ran with a sickle to save my aunt The victim’s niece, Pinki, witnessed the incident. She said her elder uncle was forcing himself on her younger aunt. Suddenly, he picked up an axe and began striking her on the neck and hands. She said that after seeing her aunt covered in blood, she rushed out of the house carrying a sickle and shouted for help. Hearing her cries, her grandfather ran to the spot and managed to pull Sarita away from the attacker. He then called Bablu, but by then the accused had already attacked the woman and fled the scene. Police reached the spot, search for absconding accused intensified As soon as information about the murder was received, Ghansaur police reached the village. Police completely sealed the crime scene and conducted an inspection. Forensic evidence was collected. The body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
