Madhya Pradesh is experiencing scorching heat. On Monday, the entire state was scorched. In Khajuraho, Chhatarpur, the mercury reached a record 46.8 degrees Celsius, while in Naugaon, it was 46 degrees. There were 22 cities in the state where the maximum temperature was 44 degrees or more for the first time this season. The temperature in Bhopal was 44 degrees. Due to this, roads here melted. According to the Meteorological Department, for the first time this May season, the entire Madhya Pradesh was scorched on Monday. Khajuraho experienced its second hottest day in history. Before this, on April 29, 1993, the mercury was recorded at 46.9 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Indore was 44.3 degrees, in Gwalior 43.7 degrees, in Ujjain 44 degrees, and in Jabalpur 44.2 degrees Celsius. Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Jabalpur experienced even more heat than last year. 2 cities in the same district are the hottest
On Monday, Khajuraho and Nowgong, two cities in Chhatarpur district, were the hottest in the state. The maximum temperature recorded in Nowgong was 46 degrees Celsius. Rajgarh recorded 45.5 degrees, Ratlam 45.4 degrees, Khandwa 45.1 degrees, Shajapur, Sheopur-Morena 45 degrees, Damoh-Satna 44.8 degrees, Sagar 44.7 degrees, Guna-Rewa 44.5 degrees, Raisen 44.4 degrees, Khargone 44.2 degrees, Dhar 44.1 degrees, and Tikamgarh and Mandla 44 degrees. Severe heat alert today also
The Meteorological Department has issued an intense heatwave alert for Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Chhatarpur on Tuesday. Here, the temperature can remain at 45 degrees or more. A heatwave warning has also been issued for Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Ujjain, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Dewas, Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, and Morena. The Meteorological Department has not issued a heatwave alert for Jabalpur, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Satna, Maihar, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli, but the effect of heat will be intense here. Warning – Do not go out between 12 PM and 3 PM
Meteorologist HS Pandey said that the effect will be more severe between 12 PM and 3 PM. In such a situation, people should only leave their homes if necessary. For the next 3 days, i.e., May 17, 18, and 19, most parts of the state will experience severe heat. Out of 18 days in May, it rained on 15 days
In Madhya Pradesh, the period of storms and rain started from April 30. It rained continuously for 11 days, i.e., till May 10, in the state. Sometimes the effect of Western Disturbance was seen, and sometimes cyclones and troughs. Due to this, it rained in the first week of May. The period of storms and rain stopped on May 11. But from May 12 to 18, the period of storms, rain, or hailstorms continued in some part of the state. Thus, out of 18 days in May, the effect of storms, rain, or hailstorms was present on 14 days. The Meteorological Department has not issued any rain alert anywhere on Tuesday.
