SUV catches fire near electric charging station in Bhopal:10 ft high blaze brought under control; owner accuses workshop employees of negligence

An SUV caught fire on Bhopal’s Kolar Road on Saturday afternoon. Within moments, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames, with fire rising nearly 10 feet high. Fortunately, the blaze was brought under control in time, otherwise it could have triggered a blast. The incident took place near the gate of Garden Residence, ahead of the Chuna Bhatti Rest House on Kolar Road. The SUV was parked there when it suddenly caught fire around 3:30 pm. Initially, smoke was seen coming out of the vehicle, after which massive flames erupted. A fire tender from the Kolar fire station reached the spot, but by then the car had already been completely gutted. This created panic among locals, as there were fears that the vehicle might explode due to the fire, which could have led to a major accident. However, the fire was controlled before the situation escalated further. Negligence by workshop staff also surfaced in the matter Negligence by the workshop handling the car has also come to light as a possible reason behind the fire. According to reports, the SUV belonged to customer Nitin Raghuvanshi and had been parked at the workshop for repair work for the past 15 days. On Saturday afternoon, workshop employees allegedly took the car out for a trial run when the moving vehicle suddenly caught fire due to negligence. The most striking part of the incident was that customer Nitin Raghuvanshi himself happened to be passing through the same road at the time. When he saw his own car burning on the road, he immediately called the workshop to ask about the vehicle. It is alleged that workshop employees told him that the SUV was still parked at the workshop for repair work. Following this, the customer recorded a video of the burning vehicle and directly reached the workshop, where he created a huge uproar. The incident has raised serious questions over the functioning of the workshop management and the negligence of its employees. A transformer was also located nearby, which added to the panic at the scene. One side of the road had to be blocked, and a large crowd gathered on the street following the incident.
