Meanwhile, family members staged a protest outside Aishbagh police station, demanding strict action against the accused. Police say no suicide note found Aishbagh TI Sandeep Pawar said the exact reason behind the suicide could not yet be confirmed, as no suicide note had been recovered from the scene. He stated that further action would be decided after recording detailed statements from family members. The deceased was a 17-year-old Class 11 student living in the Aishbagh area. Her father runs a cloth shop in Bittan Market. She was the eldest among three siblings and is survived by a younger sister and brother. The girl’s uncle alleged that a youth from the Chhola area and his friend had been harassing his niece for some time. According to the family, the accused allegedly created obscene morphed images of the girl using artificial intelligence tools. They then allegedly threatened to make the images viral and used this to pressure and harass her repeatedly. The uncle claimed that the student had informed her parents about the harassment earlier. Family members had reportedly tried to reason with the accused, but they allegedly misbehaved with the girl’s father as well. The family said they did not approach the police earlier due to fear of social defamation. One accused reportedly from victim’s neighbourhood According to the family, neither accused studied nor worked. One of them lives in the Chhola area, while the other is from the victim’s neighbourhood. The family claimed that the accused had never personally met the student. They allegedly took her photographs from social media platforms and manipulated them using AI technology. The accused also allegedly stalked the student while she travelled to and from school. Student allegedly hanged herself after sending sister out The girl’s uncle said the student appeared normal on Thursday night. She reportedly sent her younger sister outside on the pretext of fetching something. During that time, she allegedly used a dupatta to make a noose inside her room and hanged herself. When the younger sister returned, she found the victim hanging and informed their mother and other relatives. Family members brought her down, but she had already died by then. Family alleges accused pressured girl to meet them The uncle further alleged that police from Aishbagh police station reached the Gandhi Medical College (GMC) mortuary for inquest proceedings, where family members informed them about the accused and the alleged harassment. According to the family, police refused to include the names of the accused in the statements despite being informed that Akash and Vicky Sahu had allegedly pressured the girl to meet them against her wishes. The family also claimed the student had told them that the accused possessed AI-generated obscene photos and videos of her, but alleged that no action was taken by police earlier. Family protests outside police station with body After the post-mortem examination was conducted on Friday afternoon, the body was handed over to the family. Following this, relatives took the body directly to Aishbagh police station.
