Virat Kohli scored a spectacular century as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur in IPL 2026 on 13 May. With this victory, RCB moved back to the top of the points table. Batting first, KKR scored 192/4 riding on Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 46-ball 71* and Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 49 off 29 balls. In response, Kohli’s ton drove RCB to a win in 19.1 overs. The star cricketer became the fastest batter and the first Indian to score 14000 T20 runs in this innings. The RCB vs KKR match had many special moments. Let’s take a look at them. RCB vs KKR Top Moments 1) Virat Kohli celebrates after hitting a single following back-to-back ducks Kohli did not enter the match against KKR in the best of form, having registered ducks in his last two appearances. And that’s probably why he was relieved after he got off the mark in this match. This incident happened on the last ball of the first over in the second innings. Kohli nudged a ball by Saurabh Dubey towards the long-on area and swiftly ran a single, much to the joy of the fans at the venue. After completing the single, Kohli celebrated with a fist pump. 2) Jacob Bethell’s gold chain comes off after being struck by Kartik Tyagi Jacob Bethell’s gold chain fell off his neck after the RCB batter was rattled by a bouncer from Kartik Tyagi. This happened in the fourth over of the second innings when Tyagi dug in one short. And Bethell, who wasn’t in a position to play the pull shot, ended up edging the ball onto his helmet and getting a top-edge. Tyagi ended up taking a simple catch off his own bowling to complete the dismissal. The impact of Bethell being hit by the bouncer was such that his gold chain fell off. Later, Devdutt Padikkal picked it up and handed it over to the umpire. 3) Manish Pandey takes one-handed stunner, Virat Kohli congratulates him Manish Pandey might have gone under the radar for his limited appearances this season but the 36-year-old surely did not forget to make an impact on the field. Tim David, who had come out to bat at number four, attempted a powerful cut shot on the fifth ball of the 18th over. And Pandey, who was fielding at backward point, stuck out his left hand and grabbed an absolute stunner, just inches above the ground. The KKR star also managed to keep his fingers underneath the ball as he landed. The third umpire checked the catch and deemed it a fair one. After his catch, Kohli congratulated the KKR cricketer for his exceptional fielding effort. Kohli and Pandey have played cricket together since the India U-19 days and also shared the RCB dressing room in the initial years of the IPL. 4) Virat Kohli’s ‘subdued’ celebration after ninth IPL hundred While Kohli was jubilant when he got off the mark, his celebration after completing his century was a subdued one. The RCB legend got to the three-figure mark in the 19th over with a single. After reaching his century, Kohli simply raised his bat and acknowledged the cheers coming in from all corners of the stadium. 5) Rovman Powell drops Virat Kohli’s catch Rovman Powell, who has pulled off some spectacular catches in this IPL, put down a tough chance of Kohli. This happened in the sixth over bowled by Tyagi, when Kohli drove the ball in the air towards cover. Powell, fielding in that area, jumped, but the ball hit his hands and went down. Kohli was on 21 then and he went on to score an unbeaten 105*, inspiring RCB’s win. 6) Virat Kohli dances after hitting six against Kartik Tyagi To say Kohli is absolute box-office would be right, at least. The third ball of the 18th over, bowled by Tyagi, was on the middle-stump and Kohli flicked it for a massive six. After hitting the maximum, Kohli let out a little dance to celebrate the shot. 7) Virat Kohli bowling during warm-up Before his heroics with the bat, Kohli attempted to hone his bowling skills during RCB’s pre-match warm-up session. The camera spotted Kohli rolling his arm over and he seemed a bit impressed with his effort. Kohli also signalled one with his finger, seemingly wanting to bowl again in the warm-up session. 8) Rajat Patidar hit by a fast ball on the helmet In the 14th over, Kartik Tyagi’s fast bouncer hit Rajat Patidar on the helmet. Patidar took his eyes off the 141.4 kmph ball, and it hit the back of his helmet. Subsequently, the physio came onto the field and his mandatory concussion test was conducted. However, it was a relief that Patidar appeared completely fine and continued batting with a smile. 9) Angkrish Raghuvanshi performs ‘heart’ celebration after fifty KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi completed a brilliant half-century in the 14th over. He played Jacob Duffy’s slower ball towards long-off for a single and completed his fifty in 32 balls. This was his fourth fifty of the season. After completing his half-century, Angkrish celebrated by making a heart gesture.
