A 20-year-old youth died after being stabbed during a dispute over a bike collision in Bhopal’s Chhola Mandir area. The incident took place on Saturday, 9 April, while the victim died during treatment early Tuesday morning. Police have arrested two accused and registered a murder case. According to police, Ajay Lodhi, a resident of Raslakhedi, worked at a private company. On Sunday evening around 7:30 pm, a bike ridden by his cousin Nitin Lodhi allegedly collided with a minor near Ram Mandir. The minor had come to attend a Mata Pujan programme organised in Sabri Nagar. Following the collision, Deepak Thakur and his associates, who were accompanying the minor, got into an argument with Nitin. After receiving information, Ajay reached the spot and tried to settle the matter. During the argument, Deepak allegedly threatened him. Ajay seriously injured in knife attack A few hours later, both groups again came face to face in the Raslakhedi area, where another confrontation broke out. During the scuffle, Deepak Thakur and his associates allegedly attacked Ajay with a knife. The knife hit Ajay in the stomach, leaving him critically injured. Locals rushed him to hospital, where he died during treatment early Tuesday morning. Murder case registered after victim’s death Police initially registered a case of attempt to murder at Chhola Mandir Police Station. After Ajay’s death, the case was converted into murder. Police said the main accused Deepak Thakur and one of his associates were arrested on Monday night. Search and interrogation of other accused are continuing.
