A woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district, along with her childhood lover and his friend, allegedly murdered another man she was in a relationship with and dumped his body nearly 200 km away in Raisen district to mislead police. The murder was solved after investigators traced a clue from a child’s notebook found near the body. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Veeru alias Pappu Jat, a resident of Bhilwara in Rajasthan. He had been called to a house in Sainkheda area of Narsinghpur district, nearly 900 km from his hometown, where he was allegedly murdered. Body found under bridge on May 7 Raisen SP Ashutosh Gupta said a decomposed body was found under the Nagin Mod Sirwara bridge in the Badi police station area on May 7. During investigation, police found that Reena Kirar had called Veeru to her house on April 29 on the pretext of meeting him. Reena’s childhood lover Arun Patel and another accused, Harnam Kirar, were already present there. Police said the three accused allegedly attacked Veeru repeatedly on the head with a baseball bat, killing him on the spot. They tied the victim’s hands and legs, sealed his mouth with tape and compressed the body before packing it into a sack. Police said the body was then placed in the dicky of an XUV700 SUV and transported to Raisen district. The accused allegedly threw the sack nearly 40 feet deep into a ravine from the Nagin Mod Sirwara bridge to divert suspicion and make the murder appear unrelated to Narsinghpur. Friendship began through social media According to police, Reena Kirar was fond of making reels and posting photographs on social media. Around three years ago, Veeru Jat began liking and commenting on her posts on Facebook and Instagram. Their conversations gradually turned into a relationship, and Veeru would frequently travel from Rajasthan to Madhya Pradesh to meet her. During this period, Reena’s childhood lover Arun Patel also remained close to her. Police said Arun allegedly financially supported Reena and her family and had gifted her an SUV and gold jewellery. As Veeru’s visits increased, tensions reportedly grew between the two men. About two years ago, a dispute between them had even reached the police station. Investigators said Arun Patel and Reena Kirar later planned Veeru’s murder and decided to dump the body in another district to mislead police. Child’s notebook became biggest clue Police said the case was cracked with the help of a child’s notebook recovered from the spot along with the victim’s shoes and a comb. Investigators found a teacher’s handwriting in the notebook and traced it to the Sainkheda area after extensive inquiry. Police later identified the house linked to the notebook, but found it locked for several days, raising suspicion further. Using informers, police eventually tracked down and arrested all three accused from Ujjain. Three accused arrested Police said the accused initially tried to mislead investigators, but later confessed during questioning. According to police, the murder was carried out due to jealousy and the love triangle involving the victim and the accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Arun Patel of Gadarwara in Narsinghpur district, Harnam Singh Kirar of Bhilkhedi, and Reena Kirar of Sainkheda. Police have seized the baseball bat allegedly used in the murder and the XUV700 SUV. All three accused were produced before a court, which sent them to jail.
