Storms, rain, and hail continue across Madhya Pradesh, with weather conditions changing over the past four days. Instead of intense heat, many areas are witnessing rain, and similar weather is expected for the next four days. The IMD weather centre in Bhopal has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in 34 districts on Monday, while six districts are under hailstorm warning. Hail may occur today in Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, and Rewa. Thunderstorm warning issued Thunderstorm and rain warnings have also been issued for Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, Betul, Gwalior, Guna, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Morena, Sheopur, Jabalpur, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Pandhurna, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Sagar, Panna, and Damoh. Wind speeds may range between 30 and 60 kmph. Meteorologist Arun Sharma said, Trough activity and cyclonic circulation are active over the state, leading to strong winds, rain, and hail in some places. Similar weather is likely to continue till May 7. Experts say May usually sees severe heatwave conditions, but this year the month began with storms and rain. Last Thursday, strong winds caused a cruise boat to sink in Jabalpur’s Bargi Dam, killing 13 people. On Saturday, Betul recorded storm winds of 85 kmph.
