Business magazine Forbes has released a new perspective on the world’s richest people list. While recalculating the wealth of billionaires, their charitable donations have also been added to it. It attempts to find out what the wealth and ranking of the world’s most generous billionaires would be today if they had never made donations. To find this answer, Forbes prepared the ‘True Net Worth’ ranking. It assumes that the shares donated by billionaires would have remained with them and cash donations would also have been invested according to market rates. New List: Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott would be at 26th position Elon Musk is at the first position in both Forbes lists. However, he has donated only a very small portion of his wealth, approximately 0.06%. Bill Gates has donated around 73.1 crore shares of Microsoft. If he had kept these shares, his wealth would have been approximately 4 times more and he would have been the second richest person instead of 19th. Similarly, Warren Buffett would also have moved from 9th position to third position. The value of shares donated by them since 2006 has increased by approximately 700%. MacKenzie Scott would have climbed 58 positions to reach 26th place. Her ex-husband Jeff Bezos would have fallen out of the top 5.
