Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal witnessed the murder of a grocery trader who was shot dead. The body was recovered on Wednesday evening in a suspicious condition near a dhaba on the Shamsabad Road. The incident falls under the Berasia area. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Hanif (42), son of Mohammad Shafeeq, a resident of Ward No. 7 in Berasia. He was engaged in a local grocery business and frequently travelled to nearby areas for his daily work. Hanif’s body was found near a dhaba on Shamsabad Road, around 10 km from his home. Police officials who reached the spot during investigation found clear bullet injury marks on his chest. His motorcycle was also recovered from the scene, suggesting that he had possibly reached the location on his own. Shot in broad daylight, attackers absconded According to eyewitnesses, bike-borne unidentified assailants shot Hanif in broad daylight and fled the spot immediately. The attack was so quick that locals could not react before the accused escaped. Police engaged in investigation, CCTV footage being examined Taking serious note of the incident, police have registered a murder case against unknown assailants. Officer R.S. Prajapati said that every aspect of the case is being investigated. CCTV footage from the dhaba and nearby areas is being examined to identify the attackers. Denial of Enmity, Murder Mystery Continues Family members have denied any past enmity or dispute so far. The motive behind the murder remains unclear. Police are also exploring angles such as robbery, personal dispute, and other possible reasons. Postmortem Today, Hope for Revelation Police said the post-mortem will be conducted on Thursday, which may provide crucial clues in the case. The incident has raised several questions—whether it was a planned murder or a sudden attack.
