In Gwalior, Inspector Rupesh Sharma, accused of raping a fashion designer, has gone absconding after turning off his mobile phone following the FIR. Police are conducting raids to search for him. On Monday morning, the DGP transferred him from Police Training School Tighra and attached him to Police Headquarters (PHQ). Surprisingly, while the police are searching for the police inspector considering him absconding, he reached PTS on Monday morning and got relieved. It is not clear whether he joined PHQ or not. The transfer and relieving were confirmed by SP PTS Tighra Akhilesh Rainwal. On April 12, a case of rape was registered against Inspector Rupesh Sharma based on a complaint by a 38-year-old fashion designer. Following this, on Monday morning, on the orders of DGP Madhya Pradesh, he was transferred from PTS Tighra to PHQ. After the order, he was relieved in a secretive manner. Two teams reached Bhitarwar and Shivpuri According to police, the accused Inspector Rupesh Sharma is a resident of Shriram Colony in Bhitarwar and his in-laws’ house is in Shivpuri. On Monday, two teams from Jhansi Road police station reached Bhitarwar and Shivpuri. Raids were conducted at both places, but the accused was not found. Victim’s medical examination, statement in court On Monday, women police got the medical examination of the victim fashion designer done at Kamlaraja Hospital. After this, statements were recorded in court under Section 164. The victim repeated the same statements that she had recorded in the FIR at Jhansi Road police station. She also demanded strict action against the accused. Victim is close to woman BJP leader Police investigation revealed that the victim is close to a BJP woman leader who is seen with a minister. She has been spotted with them at several events. There was also political pressure on the police during the filing of the complaint. Victim said – Got acquainted through Facebook A 38-year-old fashion designer who runs a boutique in a posh colony in the Jhansi Road area lost her husband in January 2018. She has a 9-year-old child. In the year 2024, she came in contact with Inspector Rupesh Sharma through Facebook. After some time, conversations and closeness between the two increased. It is alleged that the inspector concealed the fact that he was married and deceived her with a promise of marriage. Forced relations by deceiving with promise of marriage On August 16, 2024, he reached the woman’s boutique and forcibly established relations by deceiving her with a promise of marriage. When she protested, he assured her of marriage. After this, he continued to establish relations. Currently, the victim is 9 months pregnant.
