A man and woman allegedly died by suicide by hanging themselves from a tree in a forest area of Rajgarh district on Saturday. According to the information, bodies of both were found hanging from two nooses tied to the same rope. The incident occurred in Dhabli Khurd village under Bhojpur police station limits. Bodies found hanging from tree According to police, the deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Rakesh Tanwar, a resident of Dhabli Khurd, and 21-year-old Dhapu Bai Tanwar from Jamunia village in Rajasthan. The two were reportedly in a relationship for a long time. Local villagers discovered the bodies on Saturday morning when they had gone into the forest and informed the police. Police reaches spot, bodies sent for postmortem Upon receiving information, SDOP Dharmaraj Nagar, Bhojpur police, and Khilchipur TI Umashankar Mukati reached the spot. The bodies were brought down and sent to Khilchipur hospital for postmortem. A large crowd from nearby villages gathered at the scene. Deceased man wedding just two weeks away Family members said that Rakesh was scheduled to get married in about 15 days. His engagement had been fixed around eight years ago, and wedding preparations were underway at home. His father, Prabhulal Tanwar, said Rakesh worked as a labourer and was the eldest among four brothers. The family was reportedly unaware of his relationship. Woman was already married, living with parents As per the information, deceased woman Dhapu Bai had been married in childhood to Radheshyam, a resident of Patari village in Bhojpur, but was living with her parents. There had been a long-standing dispute between the two families, with multiple village council meetings held to resolve the matter, but no solution was reached. Her family situation worsened after her mother’s death four years ago. Left home night before incident According to Dhapu Bai’s father, Mor Singh, she was at home until the previous day and left during the night without anyone noticing. The next morning, the family was informed that her body had been found hanging near Dhabli Khurd, about 5 km from her village. Her husband also reached the spot after receiving the information and stated that she had lived with him for some time before being taken back by her father. Social media posts before death Police said the couple used a single rope to create two nooses. Before the incident, Rakesh had posted photos with Dhapu Bai on Instagram, including images of them kissing. A tattoo with the letters “R” and “D” was also found on his chest.
