In Madhya Pradesh, caterers and street vendors will now get more commercial gas cylinders. The state has increased the supply limit up to 70 percent to support their daily work. With this decision, the quota for caterers and street vendors will rise, giving them easier access to LPG. At the same time, the government is planning a long-term solution by expanding PNG connections. Marriage gardens across the state will be connected to PNG lines. In Bhopal, a PNG pipeline already passes through Hoshangabad Road, so all marriage gardens in this area will soon receive connections. This step is being taken to avoid any future problems caused by LPG shortages and to ensure a steady gas supply. These instructions were given on Wednesday by Additional Chief Secretary Rashmi Shami during a video conference with district administration officials, municipal corporation teams, CGD companies, and oil firms. Connections will be provided to police institutions ACS Rashmi Shami said that PNG supply should be started within the next 10 days for households where PNG lines have already been connected. Such consumers should also be advised that if they do not take PNG supply, their LPG supply may be stopped in the next 3 months as per the instructions of the Government of India. ACS Shami asked to provide PNG connections on a priority basis to institutions/correctional homes under the Home Department, along with police, CAPF, defense establishments, officers’ colonies, general administration pool houses, police headquarters, police colonies, etc., where pipelines are laid nearby. It was informed in the meeting that a list of residents and businessmen in areas where pipelines are laid is being prepared, and camps are being organized in colonies. Districts were instructed to involve officials of local bodies, municipal corporations and municipalities, ward councilors, and other public representatives in the publicity and camp organization activities. CNG will also reach industrial areas In the industrial areas of the state where pipelines have been laid nearby, instructions have been given to identify industrial units in those areas and shift them to PNG. To increase the manpower of CGD organizations, the district administration is obtaining a list of trainees from polytechnics, ITIs, and other institutions and providing it to the CGD organization, which will employ them after providing short training. 5 kg cylinder will also be available Based on information received from the oil company, to provide gas for cooking to migrant labourers and students in the district, 5 kg cylinders are being made available by the oil company at a rate of Rs 1529 per connection. Such cylinders can be obtained without address proof. The refill charge for refilling such 5 kg cylinders is Rs 585. Permission for CGD organisations to lay pipelines The state government is issuing ROU (Right of Use) approval for laying pipelines to CGD organisations within 24 hours of their application, for providing PNG connections. So far, all approvals have been issued, and no application is pending.
