Convicted in rape case, Narayan Sai granted divorce:Indore family court approves; orders ₹2 crore alimony to wife

The Family Court in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has approved the divorce of Narayan Sai and his wife Janaki after a long legal dispute. The court has ordered Narayan Sai to pay ₹2 crore as permanent alimony to his wife. The case continued in court for nearly eight years. The decision was reserved on April 2 and later announced. This information was shared by the victim’s lawyer, Anurag Goyal, on Tuesday. Narayan Sai is currently in Surat jail in connection with a rape case. He was brought to the Indore Family Court on March 24 for the hearing. Married in 2008, living separately since 2013 According to the petition, Janaki and Narayan Sai were married in 2008, but they have been living separately since 2013. The wife accused her husband of desertion and stated that there have been no marital relations between them for a long time. Demanded 5 Crore, Court Set 2 Crore
In the petition, allegations were made against Narayan Sai of having relations with other women. Additionally, the sentence pronounced in the rape case in Surat court was also mentioned. The wife had demanded 5 crore rupees as alimony, but after hearing the arguments of both sides, the court ordered that 2 crore rupees. 50 Lakh Maintenance Arrears
Under Section 125 CrPC, 50 thousand rupees per month was initially set as maintenance, but it was not paid regularly. According to the lawyer, approximately 50 lakh rupees are outstanding, the recovery process for which will be initiated. Possibility of Challenge in High Court
According to information, this order can be challenged in the High Court. Instructions were given to the Indore Collector regarding the verification of property, but complete information has not yet been presented to the court.
