A shocking incident unfolded in Indore where an Infosys software engineer, Shampa Pathak Pandey, was killed after being run over by a car allegedly driven by a father–son duo. According to residents, the accused circled the township three times before ramming into people and fleeing the scene. The incident took place at Shiv Vatika Township (Sagar Samriddhi Enclave), where tensions had been brewing between the accused and residents for several days. Threats issued before the attack Residents revealed that Kuldeep Chaudhary had earlier called his 18-year-old son Mohit (also known as Mohanish), saying, “Come here, today everyone will have to be taught a lesson.” During the altercation, Mohit allegedly assaulted a resident, Hemant Sharma, even pulling out his hair. Eyewitnesses claimed the father–son duo intended to “teach a lesson” to the residents over ongoing disputes. Kuldeep, who works as a lead electrical engineer at a private firm in Indore, allegedly tampered with electricity connections and cut power supply to several flats, triggering further confrontation. How the incident unfolded According to Shampa’s husband, Saurabh Pandey, a resident of Ayodhya: Saurabh stated that the driver could have stopped the car but chose not to, leading to fatal head injuries. Eyewitness account: Guard’s wife injured Renu, the wife of the building’s watchman, said she witnessed the horrifying scene. She stated that Mohit drove over Shampa and also hit her when she tried to move away. She sustained back injuries, while her children narrowly escaped as they were inside the house. Dispute over electricity supply Residents said the conflict began after Kuldeep allegedly cut electricity to around 15 flats. When confronted, he became aggressive and abusive, accusing others of disconnecting power to his penthouse. An argument between Kuldeep and Saurabh soon escalated, eventually leading to the fatal incident. Family in shock; Children unaware Shampa’s family had moved into the apartment on March 13. During the post-mortem at MY Hospital, Saurabh’s father was seen waiting anxiously. He said the family had just settled in and was devastated by the tragedy. The couple’s two children, Shreshth and Shreyansh, had not been informed of their mother’s death at the time. Builder’s statement Builder Lokesh Rana said a meeting had been held earlier with residents and local representatives, where Kuldeep and his son had agreed not to use the residential property for commercial purposes. However, Kuldeep later expressed anger, stating he would not bow to pressure, and tensions escalated again shortly before the incident.
