In Lakhnadon police station area of Seoni district, Nihang Sikhs attacked toll workers at Madai toll plaza located on National Highway 44 on Friday. The incident happened in the afternoon, whose CCTV footage emerged late at night. According to information, people traveling in three vehicles, were trying to break through the boom barrier without paying toll. When toll workers stopped them, they started abusing. They assaulted him with sword handles, baseball bats, punches and kicks, causing serious injuries to Munesh Singh. Other employees were also present at the toll plaza during the incident. After the attack, while leaving, the accused snatched the shift in-charge’s mobile phone and fled towards Seoni. The entire incident was recorded in CCTV cameras installed at the toll plaza, based on which the accused are being identified. Manager filed written complaint at police station Madai toll plaza manager Amit Kumar Gupta has filed a written complaint at Lakhnadon police station. He demanded strict legal action against the accused. Amit said that such incidents create an atmosphere of insecurity among employees, therefore security arrangements should be strengthened. Lakhnadon police station in-charge KP Dhurve said that toll plaza employees have filed a complaint that some people assaulted them. The assailants appear to be Nihang Sikhs. Investigation is being conducted based on CCTV footage. They were traveling from Punjab to Nanded.
