mp-congress-chief-opts-out-of-rajya-sabha-race:says,-‘digvijaya-possible-candidate-but-final-decision-lies-with-party’

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari, said he will not go to the Rajya Sabha. Addressing the press conference on Friday in Bhopal, Patwari said that the party president’s role is very demanding and requires full-time commitment. “Anyone except me can go to the Rajya Sabha,” he said, adding that there is no need for the media or BJP to worry. On Digvijaya Singh’s candidacy When asked about Digvijaya Singh, Patwari said he can be a candidate, but the final decision will be taken by the party. There is ongoing discussion in Madhya Pradesh over a Rajya Sabha seat that will become vacant in June. After instances of cross-voting in states like Haryana, Odisha, and Bihar, there are concerns within the party about voting strategies. Allegations against government schemes Patwari criticised the state government’s Ladli Behna Yojana, calling it misleading. He said the promise was ₹3000 per month, but only ₹1500 is being given. He also claimed that only one crore women are benefiting, while many others are left out. Rising unemployment and Debt concerns He said unemployment in the state is “severe” and accused the governments led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Mohan Yadav of failing to provide jobs. He added that Madhya Pradesh is falling into heavy debt, which is affecting the future of youth. Education system under criticism Patwari said the quality of education in schools is very poor and there is a shortage of teachers. He claimed that teachers are being “scared” by talk of new exams and that earlier training systems for teachers have been discontinued. Power cut during press conference During the press conference in Bhopal, electricity went off. Patwari took a dig at the BJP, saying despite promises of 24-hour power supply, outages still happen, and people are being charged high electricity bills.
