The Government of Madhya Pradesh has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees by 3%, raising it from 55% to 58%. With this hike, employees will receive arrears ranging from ₹4,185 to ₹38,070, and their monthly salaries are expected to increase by ₹465 to ₹4,230. The revised DA will be paid with the April salary. However, even 15 days after the Chief Minister’s announcement, the finance department has not yet issued an official order, leaving employees and officers waiting. The decision will benefit around 12 lakh people, including about 7.5 lakh employees and officers and 4.5 lakh pensioners, who will also receive Dearness Relief (DR) at the same revised rate. Decision to start in 6 equal installments from May Instead of paying arrears in one go, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has decided to disburse them in six equal installments starting in May, ensuring full payment by November 2026. However, pensioners may face a setback, as arrears will be given from January 1, 2026, instead of July 2025. Employee organisations have objected, demanding full arrears for pensioners as well. At present, all eyes are on the Finance Department’s order, after which the revised DA and arrear payments will be implemented. CM had announced on March 2 Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday, March 2, announced an increase of 3 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief for the state’s 1.2 million employees and pensioners. This will cover 750,000 employees, officers, and approximately 450,000 pensioners in the state. Employees to get 58 percent dearness allowance After the increase in allowance, employees will now receive 58 percent dearness allowance. Along with this, pensioners will also be given dearness relief (DR) at the same rate. The Chief Minister has also stated that the arrears of the increased dearness allowance will be paid in 6 equal installments starting from May. This will provide phased benefits to employees and prevent immediate financial pressure on the government.
