Rajesh Henry, an excise officer from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, is accused of criminal conspiracy to obtain a fake caste certificate. It is alleged that he has been working in the excise department for the past 35 years using this fake certificate. Under RTI, it was revealed that Rajesh’s certificate bore the seal and signature of Bilaspur Tehsil in Chhattisgarh. However, when information about the case from the year 1990-91 was sought in the Bilaspur Tehsil Court’s record register, it was found that there was no record of his caste certificate case in the Tehsil office. Chhattisgarh’s high-level authentication scrutiny committee had sent his Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate to the district-level committee for investigation, but this investigation had been pending for two years. Now, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Tribes has issued a notice to the Bilaspur Collector and the Chief Secretary of the Excise Department of Madhya Pradesh in this matter, seeking a reply within 15 days. Meanwhile, department officials have been accused of suppressing the matter. Indore lawyer files a complaint Actually, Rajendra Gupta, a lawyer and RTI activist residing in Indore, has filed a complaint against Additional Commissioner Rajesh Henry, who is posted in the Excise Department of Gwalior. He stated that Rajesh Henry committed a criminal conspiracy by obtaining a fake caste certificate in the year 1990-91, on the basis of which he claimed to belong to the tribal community and secured a job in the Excise Department. After this, he remained posted in many places in Madhya Pradesh and continued to work for 35 years on the basis of a fake caste certificate. Department officials protected him for years, did not investigate Rajendra Gupta alleges that officials of the Excise Department have known for years that Rajendra Henry has occupied a job with the help of a fake caste certificate. But, officials of the department kept covering up his criminal conspiracy and tried to protect him. Used a fake certificate from Bilaspur Tehsil Rajendra Gupta gathered information from the departmental office regarding Excise Officer Rajesh Henry’s caste certificate under the Right to Information Act, based on which it was revealed that Rajesh Henry used a caste certificate with the seal and signature of Bilaspur Tehsil. However, when information about the 1990-91 case was sought from the scope register of Bilaspur Tehsil Court, it was found that the case of his caste certificate is not even registered in the Tehsil office. Information not given to the State Level Scrutiny Committee In this entire matter, the High-Level Certification Scrutiny Committee of Chhattisgarh issued a notice to Rajesh Henry for the investigation of his Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate. Along with this, the certificate has been sent to the District Level Caste Scrutiny Committee for investigation. However, the investigation of this matter has been pending for two years. Sanjay Chandel, Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Development Department, stated that Rajesh Henry was called with all his caste-related documents. But, he is not appearing. Now the National SC-ST Commission has sought information within 15 days The complaint in this matter has now reached the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Tribes. The Commission has issued notices to the Bilaspur Collector as well as the Principal Secretary of the Excise Department of Madhya Pradesh, seeking a reply within 15 days. Meanwhile, Dainik Bhaskar sought the views of Rajesh Henry, Additional Commissioner of the Excise Department, Gwalior, on this matter. However, he refused to comment, calling it a departmental matter.
