A workshop was held today in the capital Bhopal regarding the agricultural year 2026. In the program organized at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was present along with BJP’s Madhya Pradesh in-charge Mahendra Singh, Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla, Jagdish Devda, Ministers Govind Singh Rajput, Edal Singh Kansana, Karan Singh Verma, Vishwas Sarang, Krishna Gaur, Vijay Shah Lakhan Patel, Gautam Tetwal, Rakesh Shukla, Narayan Singh Kushwah, Dilip Ahirwar, Narayan Singh Panwar, Radha Singh, Tulsi Silawat, Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, etc. CM said: Take information to the public Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav told the ministers, MLAs, and BJP office-bearers present at the workshop that the state government is rapidly advancing the schemes of the Farmer Welfare Year, so that their benefits reach people’s homes directly. He said that various departments of the government are working in a coordinated manner to increase farmers’ income, and public representatives should also take information about these schemes to every village. The Chief Minister said- Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the entire country where farmers are being given electricity connections for agricultural pumps for only ?5. The government’s objective is to create a better environment for work and production among farmers. Income will also increase from tourism
The Chief Minister informed that 13 religious tourism centers are being developed in the state to promote religious tourism. Development work is underway at major pilgrimage sites like Ujjain, Salkanpur, Datia, and Orchha. He said that under the Home-Stay scheme, if a person builds 3-4 rooms in their house to accommodate tourists, they will neither need to take a commercial electricity connection nor require a hotel license. Additionally, income up to ?20 lakh has been exempted from GST, which will increase tourism-based income in rural areas. Sources of Additional Income with Farming
The Chief Minister said that if farmers combine beekeeping, animal husbandry, or other activities with farming, their income can increase. He advised farmers to raise high-milk-yielding breeds of animals. He informed that from the new academic session, children from class one to eight will be given free milk in schools, which will reduce malnutrition and increase both milk consumption and production in the state. The government has increased the price of milk by ?5 per liter to increase farmers’ income. Currently, about 12.5 lakh liters of milk are collected daily in the state, which will increase the income of livestock farmers. Irrigation and Agricultural Development
The Chief Minister said that the target is to increase the irrigated area in the state to 100 lakh hectares through irrigation projects. Additionally, shops named ‘Sahyog’ for agricultural machinery will be opened for farmers in assembly constituencies. Fodder from nearby villages will come to the cowsheds of Vrindavan village
The Chief Minister suggested that under the Vrindavan Village Scheme, cowsheds should be made self-reliant and instead of burning stubble in nearby villages, fodder should be transported to the cowsheds. For this, the government will provide trolleys and equipment. Hold four to five conferences at the assembly level
The Chief Minister told the MLAs that farmer conferences can be organised at the assembly level to promote agriculture and animal husbandry. For this, the agriculture department will provide an amount of up to 5 lakh rupees to each assembly constituency. He also appealed to farmers to increase the use of solar energy in their homes and fields. Focus on making farming a profitable business
