During the International Kinnar Akhada meeting held in Ujjain, four new Mahamandaleshwars were anointed. Among them, 27-year-old Kali Nand Giri Digambar Aghori Mata has become the most talked about figure. She is believed to be the youngest Kinnar saint in the country to be appointed Mahamandaleshwar. Kali Nand Giri has also drawn attention for her Aghori appearance and practices. She is often seen applying cremation ash on her body, wearing black clothes, keeping her dreadlocks open and wearing a large nose ring. She usually travels by car and it is also claimed that she keeps a human skull in her vehicle. She also says she can speak around 18 languages. First transgender Aghori Mahamandaleshwar The two-day International Kinnar Akhada programme was organised on March 13 and 14 at Shivanjali Garden in Ujjain. During the event, Kali Nand Giri, who belongs to Mancherial district of Telangana, was formally anointed as a Mahamandaleshwar. She is also being described as the first transgender Aghori Mahamandaleshwar. After the ceremony, Kali Nand Giri was seen performing Aghora sadhana at the Chakratirth cremation ground in Ujjain. She said tantric practices hold special significance at night, which is why she performs rituals in cremation grounds. Chose the path of renunciation in childhood Kali Nand Giri says she left her parents at a young age and chose the path of renunciation in childhood. According to her, she began learning tantra sadhana at the age of six. When she turned 12, she went to Kashi, where a saint introduced her to Sati Nand Giri Mata of the Kinnar Akhada. Learned tantra practices at Kamakhya Dham Later, she travelled to Kamakhya Dham in Assam, where she met her guru and spent about six years learning tantric practices. She said she had been involved in religious activities since childhood. Later, she met Dr. Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, Acharya of the International Kinnar Akhada. With her blessings, Kali Nand Giri formally joined the Kinnar Akhada. Cremation grounds and car were her home Kali Nand Giri says she has been travelling across India and abroad for nearly 18 years. She does not have a permanent ashram. According to her, she has spent most of her life living in cremation grounds and in her car. However, after becoming Mahamandaleshwar, she has now decided to build an ashram in Ujjain. Claims to know 18 languages Kali Nand Giri says she is not formally highly educated, but during her travels she learned many languages. She claims to speak around 18 languages, including English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese and Marathi. Millions of followers on social media Searching online for “The World First Lady Kinner Digambar Aghori Mata” shows information about Kali Nand Giri Digambar. She says she regularly uploads videos related to tantra sadhana and spiritual practices on social media, which receive millions of views. Kali Nand Giri claims she runs two social media accounts with nearly 6 million followers combined, and that her followers come not only from India but from several countries. Travels with a specially designed car Kali Nand Giri also travels across India and abroad in a specially designed car. The bonnet of the car features a large image of Goddess Kali, along with pictures of human skulls and a trident mounted at the front. It is also claimed that the car carries around 70 spiritually empowered human skulls, which she uses during her spiritual practices.
