5 men surround father, son after wedding row:Man crushed with stone, child assaulted by chain; both suffer head injuries

A father was killed and his son seriously injured after five men allegedly attacked them following a dispute at a wedding in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The accused beat them with a bicycle chain and crushed the father with a stone. The incident took place at Bamhori Tigadda under the Civil Lines police station area. According to information, the deceased has been identified as Pradeep Pandey (40), a resident of Bagh Khejra, while his injured son is Rachit Pandey (21). Rachit was referred to Bhopal from Sagar hospital in critical condition. He has deep injuries on his head and other parts of his body. Dispute during wedding, but people calmed it down The deceased’s brother Ramavatar alias Bablu Pandey said they had gone to attend a wedding in village Bagh Khejra, located near the highway. One of the accused, Anil Pandey, was also present at the ceremony. Anil Pandey allegedly started an argument over an old rivalry, which gradually turned into a scuffle. People present at the function intervened and managed to calm the situation. Large stones still lying at the crime scene According to Ramavatar, after the dispute was settled, Pradeep Pandey and his son Rachit left around midnight on Saturday and were heading towards Bamhori Tigadda. On the way, Anil Pandey along with his associates stopped them and attacked both of them. Large stones were still lying at the spot where the incident occurred. After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and rushed the injured to hospital. Pradeep Pandey died during treatment, while Rachit Pandey remains in critical condition. Pradeep had suffered severe injuries on his head and face. Both families have faced each other in Sarpanch elections Civil Lines police station in-charge Anand Singh said there has been a dispute between Pradeep Pandey and Anil Pandey for about 25 years. The two families had also faced each other earlier in a village sarpanch election. Based on a complaint by the victim’s family, an FIR has been registered against Anil Pandey and four others. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Police have started an investigation into the case.
